One Month from Today

It's almost time to meet Miss Stella Kate!  Stella is due to arrive in exactly 1 month.  We are all taking guesses on when her arrival will be.  There is a ShopAtHome.com baby guessing game and then we have heard guesses from friends and family.  Dallas is pretty sure she is coming early, I think he said his guess was Nov. 7.  I am hoping that she will wait to grace us with her presence on Nov. 22, this was my guess in the baby game at work.

Dallas and I went to a child birth class this weekend.  We learned some and we also heard some of the same things we have read.  It was nice to go to get a better idea of the order of the labor process and what to expect once you get to the hospital.  Overall, my feelings are that I don't ever want her to come out, both options are not that appealing :)

I still need to pack my hospital bag and we have almost everything we need/registered for, so if she arrived early we are set.  I have been extra tired lately and my lower back, hips and feet are sore.  I am hoping after baby is born I will feel back to normal pretty quickly, I can't wait for that.

For now, we are waiting patiently and making sure everything at home is in order for Stella's arrival.

It's almost the weekend, don't forget to bring Dr. Pepper!

I feel like it's time to post another blog, but I'm not really sure what to write about.  I guess that's why it's been so long, I have been waiting to write something perfect.  With a blog, I think I need to grasp the concept that not every post will be perfect or the most entertaining.  It's just a quick update and life can't always be super packed full of excitement, if it was I would be even more exhausted than I already am :)

One exciting thing that happened today is that I found out my mother-in-law is going to come out next week and will be able to make it to the baby shower!  It was such a nice surprise, I wasn't expecting her until Stella gets here.  Speaking of Stella, she has been doing baby gymnastics in my belly lately :)  Every evening she moves and wiggles and I can see my stomach move.  It is a very strange feeling, I think she is just anxious to meet us in a couple of months.

So, Joanne gets here next Wednesday and my mom gets here next Saturday and the baby shower is next Sunday.  I'm so excited!  The funny thing is that I have been to maybe 3 baby showers in my life.  Dallas was going to do a guy thing; I think he was hoping to do a go kart day with some friends.  That will be fun.

Tomorrow night is kickball with Where My Pitches At, it's been fun to kick off our weekends with kickball and then usually going to The Draft following the game.  As I learned last week, bring my own Dr. Pepper since they don't have that flavor.  Who doesn't have Dr. Pepper, really!  Apparently I have been craving Dr. Pepper lately :)

Cheers to tomorrow being Friday!

The better half...not

So Meridith went to write in the blog the other day, had the whole thing typed out...and hit backspace. She lost everything she had written so she gave up for that day. I figure I will post up and say hi! Meridith and I went to Fay Meyers Bike night tonight at the Tavern (I rode, Mer drove). Saw a couple of friends and had a beer. Its nights like tonight that make me realize why I love owning my motorcycle. I really have to stop riding it to work since its starting to remind me of work when I see the bike. Lately I find myself not riding as much because I enjoy having a passenger and with the baby bump that doesn't happen. Its also hard to ride when your days off are split as I find myself having to pick one fun activity and one chore to focus on for the day. I would be lying if I didn't say I wasn't nervous about the complete change in life that a baby is going to bring. Meridith knows that I fully admit to my selfishness which makes me nervous about having a kid. Its more about wanting to do things and enjoy certain aspects of life and being nervous some of that will go away. Things will be different but I know they will be good. I mean c'mon, who wouldn't want us for parents :). Besides they do make pink body work for Honda 50's!!! Stella Kate the first womens MotoGP rider!

Anyway, cheers everyone!

to blog, or not to blog?

So to be perfectly honest, I'm not sure that I can get in to the whole blogging thing.  If I do, I didn't want to do it half-assed, so it took me over an hour last night to come up with a blog title.  I didn't want to be plain and call it 'Hinman Family Blog', I wanted it to be clever.  Finally after some debate I came up with 'hinman hindsight'.  Since you can reflect on blogs, I thought hindsight was an apporpriate term to use, plus it gives nice alliteration with our last name.

Now that our wolf pack is growing from 2 wolves to 3, I thought it might be nice to have stories, milestones, memories and photos all in one place for our friends and family near and far to follow.  Again, we'll see if I can keep up with Stella, work, life and this blog.  If not, the blog will have to go :)  For now, I invite you all to follow along as our lives are about to change in the best way imaginable.
